Pages of my 1945 Diary
of my incarceration into a German Prison Camp
during WW2 1944-45.
It is now 28935 days ago that I started writing in this little old diary of mine.
Yes, that is now 79 years and 2 months and 21 days ago.
29 Tuesday. We received a "bezugschein" to be able to buy some clothes. 2 pair of trousers and shirts.
I have shoes (a pair of German army boots, left and right not identical) and a cap.
30 Wednesday. From Sister Superior we received also socks, towels, toothbrush, soap, balsam ointment and some money.
31 Thursday. Tomorrow we are allowed to leave.
1 Friday. At 7:30 am we walked from the hospital at Bensberg to Gladbach. We waited there (at an American office). We were taken by them by car to a (partly in ruins) hotel/resort, used as a "lager"
near a village called Honnef (Hennef?). We are free to do what we like! (for the first time!)
